New ideologies and repackaged old ones are gaining traction in today’s polarized discourse. These ascending dogmas offer simplistic explanations for complex social conditions and often come packaged with dangerous conspiracy theories that fuel antisemitism. Radical social justice ideology, often (and controversially) referred to as “woke” ideology, is one such political and social trend that is spawning a new variant of antisemitism. The objectives of the four part course is to delve into the ideological roots of this variant of antisemitism, to examine how it manifests, and to discuss how to address it collectively and individually.
Session 1: Radical Roots: How an extreme ideology took root in institutions
This session examines the emergence and spread of radical social justice ideology beginning in the late 1960s and its impact on contemporary discourse.

This session works to illustrate the implications and dangers, this session reviews various controversies and expressions of this variant of antisemitism.

Session 4: Case studies: The Jewish dilemma in countering progressive antisemitism
The final session considers varied possible responses to left wing antisemitism and examines a dilemma – should those opposing antisemitism seek to influence the ideology from within or reject the larger framework?
